KIOWA … NEW SCHOOL COOL!

Designed in our own sail design software programme, KIOWA shows great ergonomic performance in a light and durable set-up, coupled with functional stability in the sail. With a dynamic leech and crisp gust response, KIOWA will deliver an engaging ride that will put you in the box seat!

SET-UP

KIOWA is available in 1 stunning colour combination: Blue/Yellow. For better vision we have decided to make use of an extra wide and open X-Ply material in the window of the sail, adding the security of a 100% X-ply construction, a heavy-duty construction and a softer feel, which still offers crystal clear vision and a crisp gust response. We have also added an extra mini batten to the top panel in the design to reduce leech flutter when overpowered.

KIOWA VS HELIX

KIOWA has a more compact profile compared to our 5-batten wave sail range, HELIX and less built-in foil shape for a more “throw-around” persona. Also, the recommended boom and mast lengths create a more compact sail than HELIX. Aramid Draft Lock clew stringers help to stabilise draft and provide a stronger, more responsive clew. The use of our hi-tech tri-Axial 2 ply laminate in the top panels of the sail keeps the swing weight down. Added luff curve has seriously improved the sail's wind range and allows the front of the sail to fill up more.

Can I use other mast brands in my TRIBAL sail?

Yes this is possible, but to ensure 100% performance we recommend the TRIBAL masts that the sails have been designed for. Go for constant curve with a little flext in the top masts and avoid hard top masts.

There are two eyelets in my sail; which one should I use?

In general for all our sails the bottom eyelet will give you a little more control, and you will be able to sail in higher wind or more demanding choppy conditions. Using the lower eyelet allows the sail to open up and breathe a little more. Taller persons might find the top eyelet better and smaller persons might like the bottom eyelet better. In the end it all comes down to personal preference.
