    Designing the perfect Freeride sail was our major objective for the KROSS sails. Based on the popular KA Sail Windsurfing Freeride range, TRIBAL now takes this design a step further! All new ranges have been designed in our new (in-house developed) sail design software programme.

    TWO DISTINCT PERSONAS COMBINED

    A combination of 2 very distinct personas into 1 amazing Freeride Range … meet the KROSS-X, our bump and jump, all-terrain guru (sizes 4.7 - 5.3 - 5.8 - 6.4), and the KROSS-S, our no-cam Freeride/Freerace expert (sizes 6.8 - 7.6 - 8.4.).

    KROSS-X … THE ALL-TERRAIN GURU!

    The most important characteristics of the KROSS-X: an all-terrain, allround, bump and jump expert, excelling in both flat water and small waves. This sail lives up to its promise to give you the perfect Freeride experience, providing an awesome combination of power and speed, great performance, easy handling and high speed stability in a 5-batten set-up, yet is still soft enough for snappy maneuvers.

    KROSS-S … PURE FREE RIDE!

    The KROSS-S is pure Freeride/Freerace, easy, light and comfortable on the water, in a 7-batten set-up. Great performance, easy handling, good speed, excellent control and ample stability for flat water and Freerace use. A forgiving sail for serious freeride windsurfers, but also guaranteeing an impressive overall performance and top-end speed. KROSS-S sets the standard for no-cam freerace sails, based on the continuous R&D of the KA Sail Koncept sails. The compact race outline based on the race and slalom sails is the real secret to success for the KROSS-S: blistering top speeds, progressive leech twist and a slippery upper foil which reduce drag to a minimum.

    RDM OR SDM MAST USE FOR KROSS-X VS KROSS-S?

    KROSS has been designed for use with both RDM and SDM masts. The narrow mast sleeve allows for easier rigging in the smaller sizes with RDM masts; the larger sizes are perfectly suited for use with SDM as well as RDM masts. SDM will guarantee a more direct feeling as RDM on the other hand will give the sail a softer feeling, both combined with perfect performance, control and stability.

    Can I use other mast brands in my TRIBAL sail?

    Yes, this is possible, but to ensure 100% performance we recommend the TRIBAL masts that the sails have been designed for. Go for constant curve masts with a little flex in the top and avoid hard top masts.

    There are two eyelets in my sail. Which one should I use?

    In general, for all our sails the bottom eyelet will give you a little more control and you will be able to sail in higher wind or more demanding choppy conditions. Using the lower eyelet allows the sail to open up and breathe a little more. Taller persons might find the top eyelet better and smaller persons might like the bottom eyelet better. In the end it all comes down to personal preference.
