    Our 100% Carbon masts have been designed to get the absolute best out of your sails with that extra peace of mind offered by a high performance RDM, MDM or SDM mast. For this new production build we have chosen a collaboration with a well established Australian mast factory to ensure the high quality and performance we are looking for in our masts.

    PERFECTLY MATCHED TO THE TRIBAL SAIL RANGE

    Perfectly matched to our Racing Series, the OMAHA, APACHE-R and APACHE-F, these masts are all about allowing you to reach your personal goals, be it a PB on your GPS or winning at the PWA Slalom, no matter if you prefer to sail with RDM (in the smaller sizes sails) or SDM (in all sizes).

    Utilising the same bend curve as our SDM masts, the RDM 100% masts can be used across the complete TRIBAL sail range. Highly recommended for Wave or Freeride sailors who want the absolute best in radical conditions, they are also perfect for speed sailing on the smaller Race sails with RDM cams fitted.

    CONVEX SET-UP & FEATURES

    A mast is absolutely essential to a sail and requires the perfect design, mast curve and material characteristics. The material quality used in the production process is also of the utmost importance to ensure a durable, light and responsive high performance product.The CONVEX is an extremely accurate and highly accessible 100% Carbon mast, using a performance grade of 24k carbon, laid in a Tow Preg matrix of fibres. Other notable features are a mushroom sand stopper, filament winding and integrated ferrule. They made in Australia with 100% Carbon hand-picked fibres,

    CHARACTER & MAST CURVE

    Most of the masts currently on the market are constant curve masts, but this is no more than a general term to explain the overall characteristics of the mast. Most important to a mast is the curve percentage, including the materials used, reflex and shape. There are no industry ‘rules’ and many different ways to achieve and measure the curve in a mast. TRIBAL masts are manufactured with a curve of 14% and are slightly more flex top than constant curve.

    Can I use other mast brands in my TRIBAL sail?

    Yes, this is possible, but to ensure 100% performance we recommend the TRIBAL masts that the sails have been designed for. Go for constant curve masts with a little flex in the top and avoid hard top masts.

    There are two eyelets in my sail; which one should I use?

    In general, for all our sails the bottom eyelet will give you a little more control and you will be able to sail in higher wind or more demanding choppy conditions. Using the lower eyelet allows the sail to open up and breathe a little more. Taller persons might find the top eyelet better and smaller persons might like the bottom eyelet better. In the end it all comes down to personal preference.
